YOUR FILE STAYS WITH YOU

Privacy, in plain language.

Last updated: October 3, 2026

CaptionClean processes subtitle text in your browser. We do not upload your subtitle content to a server.

Subtitle text and chosen files

When you paste captions or choose a file, the browser reads that text into the current page. Cleanup, timing adjustment, validation, and conversion run locally. The tool does not send the subtitle text, file contents, or conversion result to our server. It does not create an account or use that content to train a model.

The current tool does not save captions to browser storage. Reset clears the visible input and output. Clipboard contents and files you download are controlled by your device and browser; Reset does not remove those copies.

Clipboard and downloads

Copy text writes the result to your clipboard when your browser permits it. Download file creates a text file locally. These actions happen only when you select the corresponding button.

Cookies, advertising, and analytics

CaptionClean currently sets no application cookies and includes no analytics scripts or advertising scripts. An AdSense account ownership tag and an ads.txt file may be present for site verification; they do not load ads or send your subtitle text to Google. If advertising or analytics is introduced, this page and the relevant consent flow will be updated before those scripts are enabled.

Normal website hosting

Cloudflare hosts this website. Requests to load the pages and their files include normal connection metadata, such as an IP address, requested URL, browser headers, and request time. The hosting provider may process that metadata for delivery, security, and operational purposes. This is separate from the subtitle text you enter into the tool.

Messages you send us

If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message. We use the message and reply address to respond to your request. Avoid including private subtitle files, passwords, payment information, or other sensitive details. A short invented example is usually enough to explain a parsing problem.
